Navindu Kalansooriya on 24th April 2016 - After The 2nd Anniversary Celebrations of Uva Wellassa University's 8th Batch;

There are lot of things that one could take from Dhanusha Dissanayake's speech over the way the audience reacted to it when it was delivered in the anniversary party of the 8th generation of UWU.

When you start something out of ordinary against the persisting rhythm people will try to laugh at you,try to tease you and will ask you to get down from the stage and and they will shout more and more so that it would encourage even the interested listeners to back down.

But once the speaker seems to be confident in what he is delivering and once he comes to a certain solid phase everyone would listen to him and the audience would be stunned to silence and once he finishes the speech.It will be followed up by a thundering applause and deafening whistles.

Simultaneously,in life when you stat something out of ordinary everyone will laugh at you,will try to mock you from behind and straight on face.But once you come to a solid phase pertaining to your achievements everyone will look up to you ,admire you and will listen to you and finally once you achieve the ultimate purpose of your life those thundering applause will follow up an your signature will be an autograph.

Because it is always damn easy to be ordinary.Any Tom,Dick and Harry could be like that and yet the ultimate measure of a person comes when he tries to be extraordinary because for that you need guts and your path will always be flooded with controversy and hardships and what matters at the end of the day is how you perceive that challenge and rise above the odds and emerge victorious.

"Campus Set Eka" - The official facebook page of the university students had organized a competition of new year games on Facebook.  The event took place on the date of 13th April from 9.00 AM and the the cry I submitted representing my university is underneath.

I hereby want to thank everyone who had put likes to the video to get me up and the ones who shared and commented. And also I would like to thank the admin crew for organizing this kind of an experience.

ආදරෙයි මෙඩ්ඩියේ : Kisser @ Taphouse

It was a Sunday. My friend Hasitha Lakmal (AKA Shaggy Ayya) called me up. After the previous meet up at Kandy as the two best men for Pramod Wattegedara - (Founder President of Rotaract Club of Badulla), we really had no chance for a meet up and that was the day. By 5.30 I reached the Dutch Hospital Complex @ Colombo Fort and after few minute of chat, Hasitha Ayya ordered a 3 Litre tower of Beer with a Wing Bite (I don't remember what it was called, lol)

Having 3 litres by only two guys, we both had not been to the correct level and he ordered 2 Tequila shots. Then by 10, we were to the maximum. For the music in the background, I invited Hasitha to the dance floor and to get a start, I first stepped in and started my own moves. After the first song ended, I moved back to where we were drinking. That was the "REAL BEGINNING".

Two guys from the next table walked in to us and talked. They were from the SAITM Medical faculty and the girls who came with them cheered us. Then the next song started and a girl from that group - 'Lakshani, I would call her', told me, "you've got some nice moves". Not a single second passed by, I grabbed her hand and got her to the dance floor and started the moves.

Grabbing was never to be ended. The next day afternoon, till Hasitha told me what happend, I had no idea what the hell I had been doing there. (Yeah the biggest hangover ever). I had been hugging the girl for long not at the floor but in the table too, and then I've been kissing her for some time. At that moment, Lakmal had been thinking that I was gonna hit by someone, but "fortunately not".

Coming home after a hangover, the next day was quite difficult to handle and with the time remembering the scenarios, I got to write these words.

"සිත ගත්ත හද මත්තගී නදට ලඳ ගත්තනිතඹ මත වම් අතත්සුරත ඇගෙ අත ගත්තවිදෙස් බස් ගීතෙකටනැටුම ඇගෙ හද ගත්තමහ රෑම සාදයේඈ මාව සිපගත්ත...

2nd Anniversary of UWU 2012/13 Batch

It's been 2 years for the date 7th April 2016 since the same date of 2014 when as a batch, we first stepped in to the university. Except for those who have sat for the aptitude tests in the university premises it self, each and every students' first time was 7th April. 

As the recent incidents and vacation let all 3rd years to be evacuated from the university premises, the need to celebrate still works on everyone's mind.

Right at the moment, I wish the best of everything to all my amazing batch mates, for giving me unforgettable experiences throughout my university career.

As a reminder, I would like you all to see the following video which we created when we were in first year. The video was contributed by all the Hospitality Tourism and Events Management first year undergraduates and I was the one to produce.
